We love dogs. They are loving companions that are a great addition to your family
When you bring a dog in to your family, it is important to train it so that you can enjoy time together without worrying about its behaviour or how it will react to other dogs.
If you go on holiday or need a day to yourself, you also need a safe and trustworthy place you can leave your dog, where they will be loved as part of the family whilst you are away. If this place happens to be in the beautiful village of Nayland, well thats even better!
Thankfully we offer both of these services, so please browse our site and feel free to contact us if you are interested or require more information
We offer home from home dog boarding where your dog is treated as part of our family
Whether it is 1 night or 3 weeks, your dog lives in a loving home with us whilst you are away
We also offer day care, so if you have somewhere to go or just need a break for the day we can look after your dog
They will have a great day with us, including a lovely walk around the countryside
We offer one to one dog training, so we can develop a training plan just for you.
This includes visits, video critique and unlimited WhatsApp support
We offer weekly life skills group classes, perfect to learn a range of different areas important in dog ownership
Hi, i'm Sarah, owner of Sarah's Pawsome Dog Retreat in the beautiful village of Nayland, just north of Colchester, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We have the most amazing walks on our doorstep and feel very lucky to live here. We have a big enclosed garden with patio and shingle area and mature plants and trees. We have a two gated system of entry to keep all dogs safe.
I have a husband, Carl and two children who are 10 and 6 years old and have been around dogs since birth. They are very dog savvy and love having visitors and the dogs seem to love them in equal measure! If you're concerned about your dog staying with children please get in touch and you can meet them when we do the meet and greet to check you're happy.
I have a lively and cheeky working Cocker Spaniel, here he is below!
They are both happy with other dogs, but again please contact me if you're unsure about your dog being with them. At the meet and greet we do it very calmly and carefully to check they're all happy together.
We treat your dog as one of our own. They are loved and cared for just as they are by you and you're very welcome to bring anything to make your dogs stay perfect.
We ask you bring their own bed, food, lead and toys. We must see an up to date vaccination certificate where the vaccines have been given at least two weeks prior to your dogs stay or a titre test confirmation. We have paperwork that must be signed before your dog stays and all bookings must be confirmed by Sarah beforehand.
Dogs from multi households are welcome and will stay together in the biggest room. All rooms are cleaned and checked daily and kept in great condition for the comfort of your dog.
We do a meet and greet for all dogs with all members of the family present so you feel confident and comfortable your dog is in great hands.
We take puppies from two weeks after their second vaccinations when they're allowed to go out and any training requirements are discussed so the puppy doesn't lose any continuity while you're away.
We also do day care from 8am to 8pm so if you need to go to work or out for the day your dog is very welcome to come but not stay the night.
Please get in touch with any requirements you may have and we'll be more than happy to discuss. We look forward to meeting you and your gorgeous dog soon!
